Dear Parents and Guardians,

As part of our desire to provide students with engaging activities, students at Vintage Magnet will participate in Halloween events on Friday, October 30, 2026. These include a costume parade and pumpkin patch. On October 30th, students can come to school dressed in their Halloween costume.

The costume parade will start at 9:00 a.m. For parents who would like to come to watch the parade, the gate by the office will open as soon as the students are seated.

The students and families must adhere to the following guidelines to participate

Costumes should not interfere with vision or mobility and should not include any items that could be hazardous to others (no makeup).
NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS. THIS INCLUDES TOY GUNS, KNIVES OR SWORDS.
No costumes/masks are allowed that hide the identity of the student (i.e., gorilla suit,
"Scream" character, etc.)
All costumes should be age appropriate. Costumes which are graphically scary will not be allowed.
No inflatable costumes are allowed.
Students can bring in decorated pumpkins and participate in the Pumpkin Patch Contest. Winners will receive a ribbon.

Decorate your pumpkin
Be creative!
Use different materials
Make it funny and interesting!
Students should place their pumpkin at the "Pat Dodge Reading Park" located in front of the library by 8:10 a.m. on Friday, October 30th. Make sure the tear-off below is attached to your pumpkin. Please remember to pick up your pumpkin by 3:00 p.m. Any pumpkin not picked up by 3 p.m. will be thrown away.

Classes will have the opportunity to view the decorated pumpkins.

We feel that it is important to provide a safe and controlled environment for children who would like to wear costumes, but who might otherwise not have an opportunity. Although some students and families may choose not to participate in the event, all students will have the option to participate if they wish. If you would like your child not to participate in the costume parade, please let your child's teacher know, and the student will watch a movie during that time.

Estimados padres y tutores,

Atentamente,

Richard Guillen, director
